Obituary of Leona Mae Parrett Ryan

Leona Mae Ryan, age 98, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016. She was born July 24, 1918 in Mount Sterling, Ohio to the late William and Ethel Mae (Edwards) Parrett. She was a member of New Horizon United Methodist Church, last surviving member of the True Blue Class, and member of the Royal Oaks Garden Club. In her younger years, she loved to garden and care for a wide variety of beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and travelling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Ryan; sisters, Glenna Ruth Brennan, Myrtle Walters, Ercil Muir, Bertha Muir, Mary Showalters, and JoAnn Hodges; and brother, John Parrett. Leona is survived by her loving daughter, Judy (Sherman) Covington; grandsons, David (Mara) Covington and Doug (Stephanie) Covington; great-grandchildren, Ryan Covington. Riley Covington, Michelle (Bryce) Franks, and Bailey Covington; great-great-grandson, Brayden Franks; sisters, Dorothy Oakes and Joyce (Ron) Ochsenwald; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from 6-8 PM at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio where funeral service will be held 10 AM Thursday.
