Obituary of Morris Frederick Wetnight

Morris F. Wetnight, 79, of Brazil, died September 17, 2002 at 7:07 pm at Holly Hills Healthcare. He had been a patient for a short time. He was born May 10, 1923 in Clay County the son of Maurice Wetnight and Cordelia Bass Wetnight. He Served in the US Army from 1943 to 1945. He worked for Arketex for 25 years. He later drove a truck for Randall Oil and Reese Oil. He also worked at the Clay County Courthouse in maintenance.

On December 25, 1946 he married Beulah Shutlz, she survives.

He was an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Brazil since 1954, serving in many capacities. He helped to build the Brazil Nazarene Church and the Carbon Nazarene Church, and also helped with construction of the Community Missionary Church and the Forest Park Gazebo.

He enjoyed playing horseshoes and softball. He also enjoyed cooking for his friends and family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Beulah; their children and spouses, Rick and Sonya Wetnight, David and Onya Wetnight, Paul and Kim Wetnight, Pattie and Bruce Brim, Carol and Darrel Harrison; grandchildren, Chris, Brad, Justin, Jessica, Sara, Elizabeth, Christina and Kaleen Wetnight, Carlene and Jason Schwartz, Bobbi and Suzanne Brim, Jim and Maryellen Harrison, Tim and Marsha Harrison, Chad Peebles, Justin and Erin Smith and Jordan White; great-grandchildren, Evan Price, Jordan, Austin, Jacqueline Schwartz, Greg, Amanda, Chelsey, Olivia, Courtney, Sara and Savanna Harrison; one sister, Viola Summers and one brother Rev. Charles Wetnight; one sister-in-law, Doris Wetnight; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 21, 2002 at 11:00 am at the Nazarene Church located in Brazil. Burial will follow in Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, September 20, 2002 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at French Funeral Home.
