Fay Lorene Swaan (nee Vandament)

August 21, 1916 – August 27, 2012

Lorene was called home early on Monday, August 27, 2012. She had just celebrated her 96th birthday. Lorene began her life just north of Holbein in the Wildrose community where her parents, Libby May and Jasper Boyd Vandament homesteaded. She grew up in Canwood and later went to bible school, where she met her husband Jacob Swaan. Jacob and her spent their lives living their Christian principles and spreading God's word.

Lorene was a missionary in New Zealand, teacher, student, artist and musician and used her many talents under the direction of the Holy Spirit to create a loving home for her six children. She will be dearly missed by her son, Nathaniel and Carol Swaan and family (Kincardine, ON), her son Michael and Cornellya and family (Saskatoon SK), her daughter Joanna and Irvin Amundrud and family (Sooke BC), her daughter Naomi and John MacIntyre and family (Biggar SK), her daughter Prudence Swaan and husband Miguel Fornandez and family (Saskatoon SK). She was predeceased by her husband Jacob and her oldest son Timothy Swaan. Lorene will also be missed by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
