Obituary of Calvin Eugene Kennedy

Calvin E. (Gene) Kennedy, 78

He was born Thursday, April 10, 1930 son of the late John S. Kennedy and the late Katherine H. (McCool) Kennedy. He died at about 3:30am on July 15, 2008 at the Indiana Veterans Home, Lafayette, Indiana.

Gene attended school in Lawrenceburg and went to work for his father in the construction business. He entered the Army on June 8, 1951 and received an honorable discharge on April 18, 1953. He earned a bronze battle star during his service in Korea and later received the Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal

After His discharge from the service, he was emplayed by the Fernald Atomic Plant in Ohio and later by Frisch's Restaurant in Lawrenceburg. He married and had one daughter, Tina Greene of Lawrenceburg, IN.

Gene is survived by his brother, Robert of Lawrenceburg, his daughter, Tina Greene; his granddaughter as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and many in-laws.

Graveside services will be held at Greendale Cemetery, Monday, July 21, 2008 at 10:00am.

Gene's good nature and smile will be missed by many. Contributions may be made to the State of Indiana Veterans Home, West Lafayette, Indiana through Fitch-Denney Funeral Home.
