Obituary of Hal E. Hallmark

Hal E. Hallmark, 72, of Cash, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015 at his home. He lived most of his life in Cash. He worked for Craighead County for 20 years. He worked as Deputy Sheriff under Floyd Johnson. During that time he received several accommodations, including Police Officer of the Year. He also worked with the prisoners under Jerry Suiter and Jack McCann.

He leaves behind his wife of 52 years of marriage, Ruth; two daughters, Michele Sloan and husband Patrick of Black Rock, and Janet Carroll of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Christopher Sloan, Aaron Carroll, Bridget Sloan and Brandon Sloan; two brothers, Ernest Hallmark and wife Linda of Jonesboro, and David Hallmark and wife Sheri of Pocahontas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Onita Burnside Hallmark; two brothers, Dwayne Hallmark and Leland Hallmark; two sisters, Melba Gooch and Theresa Barr.

Chapel services will be 10 am Wednesday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro with Danny Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Worley Cemetery.

Patrick Sloan, Christopher Sloan, Brandon Sloan, Gary Stevens, Chris Riggs and Glen Hamrick will serve as pallbearers. Jack McCann, Rick Thomas, H.C. Todd, Jim Pate, Bruce Primm, Donnie Davis, Wayne Masterson, Bill Dunkin, and Wayne Gibson will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
