Obituary of Mina Ethel Minton Newman White

WHITE, Mina Ethel (Minton) Newman age 93, of Washington Court House, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2005 at Court House Manor. She was born on January 31, 1912 in Washington Court House, Ohio, the daughter of Harry Corwin Minton and Clara Edith (Olinger) Minton. Mina graduated from school in Washington Court House in 1928 and continued her education to get a degree from Miami-Jacobs College in Dayton, Ohio in 1929. Over the years, she worked at W. F. Robertson Steel and Iron; Arthur Sieferman and Associates, CPA's; and the Beerman Realty Company from which she retired in 1976. Mina had many passions throughout her life; her devoted family, late beloved husband, extensive travels, exquisite quilting and the various organizations and memberships in which she actively partook. She was an exceptional quilter and held shows displaying her fine artwork. Her quilts are preserved at the Springfield Museum of Art. Mina belonged to many organizations. She held prominent positions in the Pilot International Club locally and nationally and participated in the Springfield, Dayton and Kettering chapters. She also enjoyed participating in the Tota Tau Chapter of Phi Beta PSI Sorority and the Daughters of American Revolution. In addition, Mina volunteered for many decades at the Miami Valley Hospital and served on the Board of Trustees for 9 years. Mina is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Dorothy Miller, her brother Dwight Minton, late first husband Chester Newman, and late second husband Robert White. Mina is survived by many extended family members and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 28, 2005 at 11.00 AM, at Anderson Funeral Home, 40 North Main Street, Springboro, Ohio, officiated by Ken Hopper. The burial will be at Springboro Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday at 10:00 AM until the time of service.
