Obituary of Roy Allen Maloney
Roy Allen Maloney, age 72, of Murphysboro, passed away at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
Roy was born on May 21, 1935, in Sims Township, Illinois, to Harlin Maloney and Minnie Louise (Breneman) Maloney.
He had served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Maloney was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Decatur, Illinois.
He had worked as a car man for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad and he had been a member of the Transportation Communications Union.
Roy married Doris Lipe on March 29, 1958, at the Elm Street Baptist Church office in Murphysboro, and she survives.
Other survivors include two sisters and brothers in law Hazel and Charles Warmouth, Champaign, Illinois, and Sharon Morrison and Kenneth Morrison of Las Vegas, NE; three brothers and two sisters in law Leon and Mary Jane Maloney, Terra Haute, IN, Kenneth Maloney of Homestead, FL, and Jerry Dennis and Sue Maloney of Manhattan, KS; several nieces and nephews; and two aunts Madeline Hicks of Dennison, IL and Fern Eckert of Paris, IL.
He was preceded in death by one brother, three sisters and his parents.
