Obituary of Roy Allen Maloney

Leon R. Maloney, age 67, of Terre Haute, Ind., formerly of Marshall, passed away at 6:05 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, in Royal Oaks Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, in Terre Haute. He was born on March 30, 1944, in Paris, to Harlan and Louise (Brenneman) Maloney. He married Mary Wallace on April 26, 1965. He was a retired custodian from Indiana State University.

Leon is survived by his wife, Mary of Terre Haute; one daughter, Lee Ann (Gary) Taflinger of Terre Haute; two sons, Terry (Gloria) Maloney of Norfolk, Va., and Pat (Michele) Maloney of Marshall.; three grandchildren, Joshua and Andrew Taflinger of Terre Haute, and Hayden Maloney of Marshall; two stepgrandchildren, Cyrio and Natasha of Norfolk; one step great-grandchild, Michael of Norfolk; two sisters, Hazel (Charles) Warmouth Laurentz of Champaign, and Sharon (Ken) Morrison of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Kenneth Maloney of Florida, and Jerry (Su) Maloney of Manhattan, Kans.; one special sister-in-law, Jenny (Bob) McIlwain of Paris; one sister-in-law, Virginia Thomas of Paris; two brothers-in-law, Paul (Nancy) Wallace of Michigan, and Bill (Shirley) Wallace of Marshall.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Ray Maloney.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. CST Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at Pearce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Burress officiating. Burial will follow in Livingston Cemetery, with graveside military rites by Clark County American Legion Post 90 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5975.
