Obituary of Opal Flora Runkle
Opal Flora Runkle, age 90, of St.Paris, a good and faithful servant, went to be with the Lord Thursday, December 8, 2011.
She was born April 27, 1921, the daughter of Howard Clyde and Clara (Morrison) Harrison. She was a resident of St. Paris, Ohio since she was born.
Opal was a member of St.Paris Methodist Church. She was employed by Graham local schools and retired after 25 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard Runkle in 1990, two brothers Oscar and John Harrison; and six sisters Nina Roberts, Mary Berge, Ethel Wangrin, Ruth Miller, Clara Belle Gosset and Lucille Glass.
Her survivors include two sons and one brother: Four grandchildren. Nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Opal was a resident of Crestview Manor of Beavercreek for the last five years.
A celebration of Opal's life will be held Monday, December 12, 2011 at 1 pm in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home with the Reverend Dave Kepple of the St.Paris United Methodist Church presiding. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
