Obituary of Donald Lewis Parrett

Donald Lewis Parrett, 83 of Claycomo went to his heavenly home on August 2, 2015. Born June 18, 1932 to Glenn Jasper and Hazel Melrose Buckley Parrett in Clark County, OH.

Donald moved to Platte City, MO at the age of 12 to live with his brother Paul. Donald graduated from Platte City High School before joining the United States Navy in 1951. At the end of his service he returned to Platte City and married the love of his life Joyce Ann Naylor.

Donald worked at Borton Standard in NKC before moving to Claycomo to operate and eventually purchase Claycomo Standard Service. He retired from the service station business after 36 years.

Donald was an active member of his community. He was a long time member of the Lions Club, a 50 year Mason and served many terms as a trustee on the Claycomo Board.

Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, his parents, brothers, Fred, Charles, Rod, Junior , Jimmy, Paul, John, sisters, Pearl, Helen.

He is survived by his sons Gregory Alan; Donald Kent; Roger Wayne and his daughter Nancy Karen. A very special granddaughter and caretaker Amber Christine, 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation 9-11:00AM, Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Service will begin 11:00AM at the church.
