Obituary of Opal Rose Deaton

Opal Rose Deaton, age 90, widow of Roy Deaton died Friday at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Mrs. Deaton was a lifelong resident of the Red Lick community in Berea, a member of the Beaver Pond Christian Church and the Silver Creek Homemakers Club.

Mrs. Deaton is survived by: her children, Paul (Karen) Deaton of Winchester, KY., Jean ( Donnie) Swope and Sue ( Emerson) McAfee both of Red Lick. 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and a brother, Ralph (Alma) Rose of Red Lick along with a host of nieces and nephew and friends also survive.

Other than her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; Ebb and Hallie Lainhart Rose and one brother Wayne Rose.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Davis and Powell Funeral Home with Rev. David Bingham and Rev. Ralph Shepperson officiating, burial will follow in the Hayden Rose Cemetery in Red Lick. Visitation will be Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
