Obituary of Frances Jane Scott

Frances Jane "Fannie" Scott, 85, of Olney, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at her residence surrounded by family and friends.

Frances was born December 29, 1930 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Dewey Edgar and Dorothy Alice (Seaton) Franklin. She married Donovan Dean Scott, Sr. on October 19, 1946 Jasper County, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 25, 1994.

Fannie was a social person with a huge heart that knew no strangers. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother and mother to her longtime companion, Dolly Madison (her wiener dog). Fannie enjoyed nature including gardening, planting flowers, and feeding the wildlife around her home. Her home was an open door to friends and family. Fannie was a member of the Women's Auxiliary American Legion and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Tracy and husband Charles; Son, Donovan D. Scott, Jr. and wife Judi; Daughter, Anita D. Scott and fiancée John Hataway; Son, David F. Scott and wife Mary; Son, Quintin D. Scott and wife Francine; Son, Dana F. Scott and wife B.J.; 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and 17 step-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Jerry and Jim, and infant sister, Harriett.
