Obituary of Clifford Leroy Burnside

Clifford Leroy Burnside, 76, of Tuckerman died Sunday at Jonesboro. He was born October 18, 1927 at Cash, the son of Albert and Julia Kathryn (Young) Burnside.

Mr. Burnside was a minister at the Tuckerman Faith Assembly of God. He loved preaching, reading his Bible, going camping with his children, and cleaning and working around the church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Odell Burnside and Carl Ray Burnside; and three sisters, Onita Hallmark, Bernice Hewitt, and Yuvon Knefka.

Mr. Burnside is survived by his wife, Gretha (Holder) Burnside of Tuckerman; three sons, Clifford Burnside of Nesbit, Miss., Jerry Wayne Burnside of Olive Branch, Miss., and Eugene Burnside of Coldwater, Miss.; two daughters, Kathryn Britt of Ruleville, Miss. and Linda Jones of Cleveland, Miss.; three brothers, Boyce Burnside of Rocedale, Miss., Glen Burnside of Greenfield, Ind., and Bill Burnside of Columbus, Ind.; two half brothers, Larry McKee of Jonesboro, and Kenneth McKee of Cabot; nine grandchildren, Robbie Burnside, Connie Hintz, Rodney Jones, Sherry McCoy, Todd Jones, April Burnside, Jeff Jones, John Jones, and Ashley Burnside; and seven great grandchildren, Kayla Burnside, Aaron Jones, Tori Jones, Delainey Jones, Dylan Burnside, Taylor Burnside, and Ansley Grace Moore.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25 at the Tuckerman Faith Assembly of God Church with Rev. Johnny Campbell and Rev. Dale Huggard officiating. Interment was in Gracelawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Robbie Burnside, Rodney Jones, Todd Jones, John Jones, Jeff Jones, and Kenneth Cummins. Honorary pallbearers were George Jacobs and L.E. C. Jiles.
